Dear Neighbour/donors,

We are a group of community volunteers called “The Friends of Trevor Boyd”

June 2018, we unexpectedly lost the most incredible soul – our friend, brother, son, uncle, leader and
teacher, Trevor Boyd. In June of 2019 in his memory, we launched what was to be an annual family carnival and BBQ in the Lawrencetown area, where Trevor called home. But due to the COVID pandemic and other causes we were forced to cancel this carnival for several years. We are now ready to launch this carnival event once again.

The event will be free for everyone, and will include bouncy castles, music, games, prizes, food and entertainment for the whole family. We are also hoping to provide each child (approximately 100) with a backpack full of school supplies and goodies (flashlights, water bottles, cups, keychains, etc.).

This letter is to request support for this worthwhile community-building event – financial or otherwise. If you have anything to contribute – cash, items for the backpacks or food such as hot dogs, hot dog buns, juice packs, water, freezes – we would be so grateful.

The Trevor Boyd “Lift Up Your Neighbour” Community Event

Trevor was known for his love and ability to bring people of all backgrounds together. He was a leader and advocate for social justice and had been recognized for his tireless work in this area. In his honour, we hope this event brings awareness and togetherness to the diverse people who live in our community.

Let’s all take a page from Trevor’s book and love like crazy, smile big, hug tight, sing loud, have faith and be a cheerleader for all. We would so appreciate your help to continue his incredible legacy.
