The evangelical, Protestant, Christian denomination of the Congregational Christian Churches in Canada (or 4Cs) is headquartered in Brantford, Ontario, and is a member of the World Evangelical Congregational Fellowship. The name "congregational" generally describes its preferred organizational style, which promotes local church autonomy and ownership, while fostering fellowship and accountability between churches at the National level.
Good Shepherd Church is led by a Board of Elders, a Board of Deacons, and our Interim Pastor.
Good Shepherd Church is led by a Board of Elders, a Board of Deacons, and our Interim Pastor.
Jesus was the ultimate Leader Who Served, and Servant Who Led. To step into roles of servant-leadership, we only need to look at the Servant King Himself – Jesus Christ, for our example, who in His divine nature as God, submitted to death on a cross for us – and who willingly washed the feet of the apostles, asking them (and us!) to do the same for others. At Good Shepherd Church, leadership means servanthood: that is, the leaders know that their role is to serve the congregation with their gifts, talents and calling, and that good servants lead others in similar acts of selfless service, grace, and giving of time and talents. Thus, we will seek to follow in Jesus' footsteps in our roles of service and leadership at Good Shepherd Church.
Pastor: Rev. Eric Malloy
Pastor Eric Malloy is our Pastor, and will be delivering our services each Sunday. Elders Board The Elders are considered the Spiritual leaders of the church, discerning, directing and leading the congregation through Spiritual matters and concerns. Elected for 3-year terms of service, they serve whole-heartedly to the best of their ability during that time, with between 1 and 3 people coming on/stepping down each year. A healthy congregation has many Spiritual leaders and servants in their body – some who are in active service on this board, and others who work behind the scenes to offer support and direction, providing input at congregational meetings, and taking their turn in leadership when called upon and elected in due season. Regular meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month (except summer), starting at 7 PM.
Current Members of the Elders Board:
Louise Boyd, Chairperson (2021-2024) Bill Hiltz, Vice-Chair (2022-2025) Margaret Sellars, Secretary (2021-2024) Cathy Wilkes (2021-2024) Dorothy Rice (2022-2025) Theresa Gilbert (2023-2026) Current Sunday School Superintendent
Margaret Sellars Worship Teams We are blessed to have two separate worship teams playing on alternate Sundays, both playing a blend of classic and familiar songs along with more contemporary ones. Instruments and vocal styles vary on each team, and other musicians are welcome to become part of a team. Occasional Sundays feature the Boyd family, who are long-time, talented favourite contributors at Good Shepherd Church.

Deacons Board Those who serve on the Deacons board are gifted Spirit-filled people, called for a season to concern themselves with all matters material concerning the church (building and maintenance needs, budgetary concerns, material requests, office needs, church expansions or improvements, parking and grounds matters, seasonal requirements, etc.). Though not required to do all the work, they are in charge of organizing and arranging for the financial and material needs of the church and congregation as they arise. Similar to the Elders Board, people serve for a 3-year elected term, with 1 to 4 people standing in or stepping down on an annual basis. It is not uncommon to have people who have served as Elders serve a term as a Deacon at Good Shepherd Church, and vice versa. Regular meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month (except summer), starting at 7 PM. Quite often, the first part of the meeting is jointly held with the Board of Elders (a combined board meeting, before separating for more appropriately designated Board matters).
Current Members of the Deacons Board:
Dan Rice, Chairperson (2021-2024) Christine Sellars , Vice-Chair (2023-2026) Mark Wilkes (2023-2026) Gary Boyd, Secretary (2021-2024) Rob Kay (2023-2026) Chris Friis: (2023-2026) Congregational Committee members serve Good Shepherd Church by hosting/organizing events and functions, which build up the congregation by fostering a feeling of community and belonging, encouraging involvement, and by ensuring church functions and events run smoothly.
