Jesus was the ultimate Leader Who Served, and Servant Who Led. To step into roles of servant-leadership, we only need to look at the Servant King Himself – Jesus Christ, for our example, who in His divine nature as God, submitted to death on a cross for us – and who willingly washed the feet of the apostles, asking them (and us!) to do the same for others. At Good Shepherd Church, leadership means servanthood: that is, the leaders know that their role is to serve the congregation with their gifts, talents and calling, and that good servants lead others in similar acts of selfless service, grace, and giving of time and talents. Thus, we will seek to follow in Jesus' footsteps in our roles of service and leadership at Good Shepherd Church.
